What ‘s happening at Health at Campbelltown and Health at Newton?

Health at Campbelltown and Health at Newton are committed to providing ongoing high health care, as well as creating a safe workplace and practice for patients and staff, during times of COVID -19 transmission in the community. The Health @ Group encourages everyone to seek vaccination for COVID-19, and at the same time respect patient’s individual choice. We will not discriminate against any patient seeking care. To protect our patients, doctors and staff from COVID-19, we have put in place a number of precautionary measures in line with SA Health’s COVID-19 exposure risk assessment.

Patients will be screened for any of the below symptoms:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Congested or runny nose
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Muscle or body aches
  • New loss of taste of smell

If you have any of these symptoms a telephone or car park consult will be offered.

Our HotDoc online appointment system is currently available for telephone consults only, if you require a face to face appointment please ring the surgery so you can be screened with these questions by our reception staff.

When booking and checking in for your appointment you will be required to answer some questions:

  • Do you have Cough, Cold, Flu, Sore throat, Runny nose or Fever?
  • Are you waiting for results from a COVID-19 test?
  • Have you been in contact with anyone who has or is suspected to have COVID-19?
  • Have you traveled interstate or overseas in the last 14 days?
  • Are you fully immunized for COVID-19?

Any patient who is not double vaccinated:

  • Will be offered a telephone consult in the first instance
  • If the doctor deems you require a face to face consult, a car park consult will be arranged.

When inside the practice, please follow the below directions:

  • Surgical masks must be worn correctly at all times, covering both nose and mouth
  • You must sanitize your hands prior to entering the practice
  • You must check in using the QR Code check or manually sign in on entering the practice.
  • Physical distancing – 1.5m apart
  • You may be asked to wait in your car or outside the practice
  • Where possible, attend your appointment alone. If you require a support person, we ask that you bring one person only. For children, we ask that only one parent and no siblings attend the appointment (where possible).

We expect that our Doctors and staff are treated with respect at all times.

If you do not follow the above guidelines you may be putting Our Doctors, Staff and other patients at risk.

From Health at Campbelltown and Health at Newton we thank you for your continued support and patience during this time. We hope that by doing this, we will be in a strong position to continue to provide ongoing Health care to our patients.

The large volume of calls is impacting the ability of reception staff to attend to regular needs of our patients. Please read on for further information.

Who can get the COVID-19 vaccine?

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to:

* Anyone 12 years and over

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is now available for people aged 12 years and over.

People aged 60 years and over are eligible for either the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine or the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

If you have been interstate within the past 14 days unfortunately you will be unable to attend Health at Campbelltown's Vaccination Clinic.

If you do not have a Medicare card, you will need to go to a Respiratory Clinic for your vaccination.

Please book online via Hotdoc now!

We will continue to keep you informed with regular updates through our website and Facebook page. Thank you for your understanding.

At your first vaccination appointment you will be allocated a second dose appointment time.

You will need to have a gap of at least 7 days between the COVID-19 vaccine and the Influenza vaccine.

In light of recent worldwide infectious diseases risks, if you’ve returned from any overseas travel in the last 14 days AND have respiratory symptoms including cough, sore throat, runny nose etc, please DO NOT come into the clinics without ringing our reception staff on 8365 8111 first! Our waiting rooms have at risk patients who could potentially become extremely ill if infected including pregnant women, those on immunosuppressants, cancer patients who are on chemotherapy etc. Our clinics will be offering telephone consultations under these circumstances and these Telehealth consultations can be organised by ringing 8365 8111. These appointments are Medicare rebateable. A Telehealth consultation can assist with triaging and if needed, facilitating a face to face or car park consultation and/or arranging for COVID19 testing.
